If you have not seen this movie you should. It’s about Dad’s, and being, not just about being “good” dads, but Better days. Being leaders, teachers, examples, and true Christians. It’s about a man answering his call as a father and husband. I watched it with my husband on Friday night and we both loved it and although he wouldn’t admit to it, it was a tear jerker for both of us. This movie was produced by Provident Films the same people that did Facing the Giants and Fireproof. Both of which are excellent films.
For some reason it is PG-13, which I normally would be skeptical about, but there was no language, just gangs and drugs. This is the trailer…
Basically the gist of the movie is about these Dads that come to realize that they need to step up a little, and become true Christians and better Fathers. The main character comes up with a “Resolution” that he gets all these other dads to sign. If there were more dads like these ones in the movie, this world would be an amazing place. This movie not only motivated my husband to want to be a better dad {which he already is, but we can all be better…right?}, it motived me to want to be better also. To want to teach my kids daily of Gods love for them, and to be there and to support them and spend time with them.
Here are the Resolutions that they commit to in the movie. They are all wonderful…can you imagine if all Men lived up to this!
THE RESOLUTION
I do solemnly resolve before God to take full responsibility for myself, my wife, and my
children.
•I WILL love them, protect them, serve them, and teach them the Word of God as the
spiritual leader of my home.
•I WILL be faithful to my wife, to love and honor her, and be willing to lay down my
life for her as Jesus Christ did for me.
•I WILL bless my children and teach them to love God with all of their hearts, all of
their minds, and all of their strength.
•I WILL train them to honor authority and live responsibly.
•I WILL confront evil, pursue justice, and love mercy.
•I WILL pray for others and treat them with kindness, respect, and compassion.
•I WILL work diligently to provide for the needs of my family.
•I WILL forgive those who have wronged me and reconcile with those I have wronged.
•I WILL learn from my mistakes, repent of my sins, and walk with integrity as a
man answerable to God.
•I WILL seek to honor God, be faithful to His church, obey His Word, and do His
will.
•I WILL courageously work with the strength God provides to fulfill this resolution for
the rest of my life and for His glory.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. – Joshua 24:15
There is a line in the movie where he talks about how we only have a short amount of time with our kids at home to teach them and let them know how much we care about them and to teach the moral values to live by. We need to stop wasting our time and be with our families. {That is not a direct quote seeing that I took the movie back to Red Box, but it’s the gist of what he says.} So one of my resolutions that I want to commit to today is to become a better mother by focusing my time during my kids waking hours on them and their needs. To teach them daily of God and of righteous living. To help them to become amazing adults, and not waste the precious time we have to teach them on doing stuff I want to get done, but spend time with them and have them help with the things that need to get done!

I want to see this so badly!
My husband and I watched this last week while we were in the NICU with Mason. It was a wonderfully inspiring movie!
I loved reading your post today. I thought the movie sounds like a must see and I loved the resolutions.
Thanks for the suggestions and blessings to you!
